The Standard Expands Beyond Hospitality

The Standard has officially entered a new chapter with the completion of The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami, marking the hospitality brand’s first dedicated residential project anywhere in the world.

Developed by Rosso Development in partnership with Hyatt and Midtown Development, the 12-story building delivers 228 residences in one of Miami’s fastest-growing urban neighborhoods. The project represents the first major residential addition to Midtown Miami in nearly a decade and reflects the growing demand for branded residential experiences that combine hospitality-inspired services with private homeownership.

The completion of the project further strengthens Midtown Miami’s position as a major residential and lifestyle destination situated between Wynwood, the Design District, and Downtown Miami.

Lifestyle-Centered Design

Designed by Arquitectonica with interiors created by Urban Robot alongside The Standard’s in-house design team, the project emphasizes community engagement, creativity, and social interaction.

Developer Carlos Rosso explained that the vision extended beyond simply creating another residential building.

“We wanted to create a building that doesn’t just exist in the neighborhood but participates in it,” Rosso said. “The Standard is a true gathering place authentic to the neighborhood, designed to bring people together and contribute to the creative energy that makes this part of Miami so special.”

The architecture and interior design draw inspiration from Midtown’s artistic culture while incorporating the signature aesthetic that has defined The Standard’s hotels in destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, and London.

Resort-Style Amenities Drive Demand

A major selling point of the project is its extensive amenity package, which spans more than 34,000 square feet.

The rooftop serves as the centerpiece of the development, featuring a 60-foot resort-style swimming pool, extensive landscaping, and the Solana rooftop restaurant and bar operated by the Juvia Group.

Residents also have access to a comprehensive wellness and fitness program that includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga and stretching studios, an infrared sauna, and dedicated wellness spaces designed to support healthy living.

Additional amenities include co-working facilities, a screening room, and a unique pickleball court that can transform into a disco-style entertainment venue, reflecting The Standard’s reputation for blending recreation with social experiences.

Art and Culture Embedded Into the Building

The Standard Residences places a strong emphasis on art and cultural expression throughout the property.

Common areas and gathering spaces function as a curated gallery featuring works from international and local artists, including Argentinian artists Gaspar Libedinsky and Patricio Escobedo, South Florida artist Jen Clay, and Miami-based Venezuelan-American fiber artist Lisu Vega.

The integration of public art reinforces the development’s connection to Midtown’s creative identity while creating a distinctive living environment for residents.

Culinary Experiences On-Site

The project extends The Standard’s hospitality philosophy through several food and beverage offerings located directly within the building.

Residents and visitors have access to popular dining concepts including Sushi Garage, Mannarino, Rosetta Bakery Café, and the Privato Speakeasy.

These venues are designed to serve as social hubs while contributing to the walkable lifestyle that has become a defining feature of Midtown Miami.

A Catalyst for Midtown’s Next Growth Phase

Industry leaders view the project as an important milestone in Midtown Miami’s continued evolution.

According to Amar Lalvani, President and Creative Director of The Lifestyle Group at Hyatt, Midtown has long possessed strong fundamentals but lacked a defining anchor project capable of elevating the neighborhood’s profile.

The development also complements the recently announced Midtown Park project, a planned $2 billion mixed-use community that will introduce luxury retail, office space, residential units, dining destinations, public green spaces, and sports facilities. Together, these projects are expected to further connect Midtown with neighboring districts such as Wynwood and the Design District.

Strong Sales Signal Continued Demand

The Standard Residences is already nearly sold out, underscoring ongoing demand for branded residences and lifestyle-focused housing in South Florida.

As buyers increasingly seek properties that combine luxury amenities, community engagement, and hospitality-style services, branded residential developments continue to emerge as one of the fastest-growing segments of the luxury real estate market.

The success of The Standard’s first standalone residential project may also pave the way for additional residential developments under the brand in other global markets.

Bottom Line

The completion of The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami marks a significant milestone both for the globally recognized hospitality brand and for Miami’s evolving urban residential landscape. Featuring 228 residences, extensive wellness and social amenities, curated art installations, and hospitality-inspired services, the project reflects the growing popularity of branded residential living. Its near sellout status demonstrates strong buyer demand and reinforces Midtown Miami’s position as one of South Florida’s most dynamic residential destinations.
