The Florida Real Estate Legal Summit will take place on July 16 in Orlando, bringing together attorneys, industry leaders, and real estate professionals to discuss emerging legal issues affecting Florida’s housing market.

The one-day event will cover topics including artificial intelligence, ethics, contracts, disclosures, litigation, Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) issues, and complex real estate transactions.

Presented by Orlando Real Producers in partnership with Florida Realtors®, the summit offers participants five continuing education (CE) credits while providing practical legal guidance for today’s evolving real estate environment.

Summit Focuses on Practical Legal Challenges

As legal and regulatory issues become increasingly intertwined with everyday real estate transactions, Florida Realtors will have an opportunity to explore current industry challenges during the Florida Real Estate Legal Summit on July 16 in Orlando.

Rather than focusing solely on legal theory, the event is designed around practical situations that agents and brokers routinely encounter, including contract disputes, disclosure obligations, evolving technology, and compliance responsibilities.

The summit aims to help professionals recognize potential legal risks before they become costly disputes.

Sessions Cover AI, Ethics and Litigation Risks

The conference agenda includes presentations addressing several of the industry’s most pressing legal topics.

Attendees will receive updates on federal real estate developments from the National Association of Realtors® alongside a 2026 Florida legislative and regulatory update presented by Florida Realtors®.

Additional sessions will examine the growing role of artificial intelligence in real estate, ethical considerations surrounding AI adoption, handling transactions involving death or divorce, navigating Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) matters, and understanding the most common causes of litigation involving real estate professionals.

These discussions are intended to provide actionable guidance that agents can apply directly to their daily business operations.

Helping Realtors Manage Everyday Risk

Industry leaders say many legal issues begin with seemingly routine client interactions rather than major disputes.

Questions regarding contracts, advertising, disclosures, technology, or transaction management can quickly evolve into legal concerns if not handled appropriately.

According to Juana Watkins, General Counsel and Vice President of Law and Policy for Florida Realtors®, today’s legal landscape requires agents to recognize situations where professional judgment and legal guidance become essential.

“Florida Realtors are working in a market where legal questions are not theoretical. They show up in contracts, conversations, advertising, disclosures and daily brokerage decisions,” Watkins said.

She added that the summit provides members with practical guidance from attorneys experienced in Florida real estate law while helping participants identify when to seek legal advice before problems escalate.

Education for New and Experienced Professionals

The event is designed to benefit professionals at every stage of their careers.

Newly licensed agents can build confidence by learning how to navigate situations they may encounter for the first time, while experienced Realtors and brokers can refresh their understanding of legal developments affecting brokerage operations and client representation.

By combining regulatory updates with practical case studies and industry insights, the summit seeks to strengthen professional readiness in an increasingly complex marketplace.

Bottom Line

The Florida Real Estate Legal Summit reflects the growing importance of legal awareness within today’s real estate industry. As technology, regulations, and transaction complexity continue to evolve, the event provides Realtors with practical education on managing risk, maintaining compliance, and delivering informed guidance to clients across Florida’s housing market.

Legal preparedness has become an increasingly valuable component of successful real estate practice. From artificial intelligence and disclosure requirements to contract management and regulatory compliance, ongoing education enables real estate professionals to adapt to changing industry standards while reducing operational risk and strengthening client confidence.
